I reached out to the developer personally and volunteered to create official multiplayer maps. He gave me a set of requirements for every map for things such as optimizations, support for community modding and matching the game's pace and design, but allowed for flexibility for new ambient systems in my maps. After various community play testing sessions and feedback loops - my maps were added to the official map pool.
